Acorn’s catering department, which is based at the nursery in Shenley Church End, supplies meals to the two Acorn nurseries which do not have their own kitchen (Newport Pagnell and New Bradwell) and also to four other external nurseries. The other Acorn nurseries each have their own in-house chef but all of the nurseries follow the same set of menus, which are carefully planned to ensure that they are nutritionally balanced and appealing to the children.

Acorn ensure that all ingredients are, as far as possible, fresh, locally and ethically sourced, and of high quality. We only use free range eggs and try to use seasonal fruit and vegetables at all times. Simon Graham, our head chef and catering manager, works with his team of staff to provide a friendly and personalised service which accommodates special dietary requirements and with menus that follow the Children’s Food Trust Guidelines for Early Years Settings.
