Abbeys Inspection Report

Congratulations to Sharon and her team at Abbeys on a very good inspection report from Ofsted.  They have been given an overall judgement of Good, with three areas being judged Outstanding.

Copies of the report are available from the nursery, or can be downloaded from the Abbeys page of our website – and it will also be available on the Ofsted website shortly.

Our Forest Schools have now completed their first half-term of Forest School sessions at Salcey Forest for 4 of the nurseries, with plans to extend these to all of the nurseries next term.  During school holidays the Forest School sessions are opened up to our out-of-school clubs, with the Easter holiday weeks being hosted by our playscheme at Abbeys in the first week, and at Cedars in the second.  The minibus will collect the children from there and take them to our site in Salcey Forest.  There are a few places available on the first week, but the second week is already booked up.  Please contact head office on 01908 510309 for further details.

New Bradwell now open!

Our new nursery is now open, with children visiting for settling in visits over the next two weeks ready to start after the Easter holidays.  Please phone Katy on 01908 310341 to arrange a visit.

New Nursery in New Bradwell

We are delighted to announce the opening of our seventh day nursery at New Bradwell in Milton Keynes.  Plans are well underway for a 33 place day nursery, offering full and part-time daycare for babies and children aged four months to four years, together with wraparound childcare for the nursery class in New Bradwell school.  We will have our own building within the school grounds, and will also be offering a breakfast club, after-school club and holiday playscheme which will be in the main school building and children's centre.

Christmas Dates

Please note that all our nurseries will be open every day over the festive period except for the Bank Holidays (and weekends) but on Christmas Eve we will be closing at 1.30pm and on New Year's Eve we will close at 4.00pm. Please contact us in head office on 01908 510309 or speak to your nursery manager with any queries or for details of other Christmas dates (parties, performances etc).

20th Birthday celebration

Thankyou to everyone who came to our 20th Birthday Party on Saturday, at our nursery in Castlethorpe. We were delighted to see so many people, and especially the staff from our very early days who came along. Heidi, who was our very first nursery manager, cut the cake, and Rachel, one of our earliest nursery nurses was delighted to see David, one of our first babies - now very grown up!

September 2009: Burton Latimer Open Week

July 2009: Early Years Professionals

Congratulations to Carly, at our nursery in Burton Latimer, on becoming our first member of staff to achieve Early Years Professional Status. Katy at Cedars is also waiting to hear if her recent assessment was successful, good luck to her too!

June 2009: Relay for Life

Well done to the Acorn team for taking part in the Relay for Life at the weekend in aid of Cancer Research. The team included staff from head office, Castlethorpe, Shenley and Abbeys. A great team effort, well done girls!

We will be celebrating our 20th birthday later this year (September) and to mark the occasion we have given ourselves a new logo! Our new prospectuses will be available shortly and the website will be next in line for a birthday makeover...so watch this space!
